Your data, always.
We know that many of you entrust Dot with personal matters—some of which may be deeply sensitive—so we want to take the time to clarify how we approach your privacy and how that impacts you. From the day we started New Computer, we’ve guided our product with the core value that it should always serve you, rather than some hidden ulterior motive that misappropriates your data. We want to make this value clear and unequivocal, so here are our commitments to you:
Your data will never be sold
Our subscription business model creates alignment between you and us when it comes to data ownership. Both freemium and paid users’ data will never be sold nor transacted to third parties.
Your data is used to provide the best experience
In addition to the data you provide us, like messages, photo uploads, and voice memos, background data like location and calendar events are only gathered to inform Dot’s responses. You may revoke access for these permissions at any time.
Your data is secure
We store data in the cloud to enable multi-platform experiences. Your data is protected by encryption at rest and in transit.
Your data is private
Only you can read your chat history with Dot
Your data is under your control
We don’t train models on user data. You can also always delete your account, which wipes all of your data from our systems.
